Chris and I in Bryce Canyon National Park, the day after the Grand
Canyon shot. Just unbelievable.
I may be dating myself here, but this picture is my little tribute
to those "Oh What A Feeling!" Toyota commercials. This was
back near the North Rim of The Grand Canyon, up a dirt road about
seven miles.
Probably the most surreal photo I've ever taken, this shot of Chris
Mack was done on the side of a road called Rim Of The World Drive
about ten miles from Lake Arrowhead, CA on the first day of our trip.
The road (also known as CA Rt. 18) overlooks the San Bernadino Valley,
and there was a thick, low cloud cover present over the valley--but
beneath us--at 9:30 AM that morning. In reality the elevation was
only about 2,500 feet, but it felt like 10,000 under these conditions.
The Yellowstone River, inside Yellowstone National Park, December,
2000. I was in the midst of a 120-mile round-trip snowmobile cruise
of Yellowstone's southern loop.
