Mono Lake, CA in May of 1995. I had a friend--my senior prom date,
to be exact--who worked in Mono Lake as a forest ranger in Yosemite.
Mono Lake is on the eastern end of Yosemite National Park, a far less
frequently visited area than the western side's Yosemite Valley. But
it's just as beautiful.
My nature fetish doesn't end at the shores of the Atlantic or Pacific
Oceans. This river marks the border of Norway and Sweden, and you
have to cross it on a breathtaking bridge if you want to get from
Goteberg, Sweden to Oslo, Norway. I took this during the Wayne Kramer
tour in April of 1999.
Soon after moving to Los Angeles in August of 1993, my friend Chris
Mack and I embarked on an ambitious three-day road trip: Big Bear
Lake, CA; Grand Canyon, AZ; Bryce Canyon, UT and Zion National Park,
UT. This is the North Rim of The Grand Canyon, again far less visited
(and more difficult to get to) than the tourist-infected South Rim.
