The last time I recorded with Nick D'Virgilio was back in '95 for the Yes tribute album Tales From Yesterday, done with Keneally and the late great Kevin Gilbert at his famed Lawnmower Studio in Pasadena. Same place, some of the same folks, but with a BFD vibe considering the presence of new Dolphin Nick and veteran Dolphin Rick Musallam. That Nick sure can sing, can't he?

Two things worth mentioning: I'd always sworn I'd never use that clichéd Jaco-ish "bridge pickup" sound for anything…but damn it, it sounds so good on the Mike Lull Custom that I couldn't resist, so "Dream In Red" is a first for me. Regarding the Danelectro, I used it under duress. Oh, OK, it's the right sound for the tune, but I've never played anything that felt so awful.
