The "Quartet" Tour: November, 2001

I can't say enough about what a musical high it was to be a part of this touring outfit. Keneally, myself, guitarist Rick Musallam and drummer Nick D'Virgilio found a chemistry in the first rehearsal that carried over and exploded into ten stellar shows in ten consecutive days. I look back on this trip as the most fulfilling-and most fun-BFD tour I've ever had the privilege to be a part of. And I took lots of pictures.

The standard group shot, taken just after a show at one of our favorite venues, The Empty Glass in Charleston, WV. Left to right: Mike Keneally, Rick Musallam, Nick D'Virgilio, myself.

Virgin MerchMaven Hillary Manning and I meet for the first time in a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport. I started off the tour calling her "Her Majesty" (note the initials), but somehow it evolved into "Momma." I then became "Daddy." The things that happen on the road..

Back in Charleston, where I first remembered that I had a camera.and it happened to be Nick's birthday. As you may or may not know, the word "ass" took on a special significance during this tour (literally for no good reason other than the fantastic way Nick said the word: "a-a-aa-a-aa-a-aa-a-aaaaasssss"), and so the cake actually said "ASS" on it. You fill in the blank, then, on what Nick's doing here.

The Nick-Loves-Charleston show continues. In this episode, our favorite drummer finds a condom (used?!) on the stage where he's supposed to set up his drums. Using some kind of protective implement, he lifts the offending article from the floor and reacts accordingly.
