Bryan
In The Morning When he's not working with Mike Keneally and Beer For Dolphins, bassist Bryan Beller gets plenty of work backing vocalists (including Janet Robin), who's on our "Discover The Indies" website page--they are scheduled to play at our winter NAMM booth). In December, Beller called to say that his Taylor AB-1 has been a big hit on a run of TV appearances around the country. Beller had been backing Anika Paris, an Edel America Records artist whose single, "It's About", was getting heavy airplay in major markets. They'd been doing promotional tours of TV stations around the country, performing live and acoustic on such shows as Peachtree Morning on the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, and on Good Day Dallas, the Fox affiliate in the Big D. Paris's other backing musician is Griff Peters, a San Diego-bred, Venice, California-based guitarist who plays a Taylor 814-ce (Beller and Peters know each other from their days at the Berklee College of Music in Boston). "I have to tell you that the Taylor bass was a big hit with Anika's management," Beller reported. "And on our Dallas TV appearance, I looked up at the monitor while we were performing, and they had a closeup of me doing percussive things on the body with my right hand. Even the 'anchors' had nice words for it." Beller added that with Paris' new album coming out soon, he'd be doing more TV gigs.
