This album was actually "complete" and already released in Europe at the time I joined the band in late 1993, but Dweezil decided to replace two tracks with the ones listed here. It was also my first professional recording ever, and ignorance was indeed bliss. "My Beef Mailbox" turned out to be kind of a signature tune for me, or a coming-out party, or something significant to myself and the few thousand people who knew about Z. The slap solo was done in one take, and I probably never played anything as good as that in any subsequent live performance.

"In My Mind" was just riff-rock on crack. Did you know that we shot a video for that tune? I believe it aired on MTV three times, and someone was enterprising enough to have recorded one of those moments on their VCR. We came right after Nine Inch Nails' "March Of The Pigs" and were followed by Aerosmith's "Janie's Got A Gun." Not bad.
