The closest I'll ever come to sitting in with the 1988 Zappa band. Neil Sadler is a post-modern jazz/classical/fusion/rock composer with a mean streak on his charts. This was some of the toughest material I've had to deal with, from both a technique and a theoretical standpoint. I should have focused a little more on my sound for this, as it ended up a little thin, but at the end of the day I was just relieved to have gotten it done at all. You don't even want to know how the ultra-fast swing section (quarter note = 250+ bpm) of "Jazz Bastards" was tracked.
