My lack of attention to my studio sound finally caught up with me on this recording, a fine musical effort but one severely lacking in decent bass tone (IMHO). Keneally himself performed the Herculean task of making the tone somewhat passable, especially on "Frozen Beef" and "Own". On the positive side, "Why Am I Your Guy?" features my first decent overdriven bass sound, courtesy of the SWR Interstellar Overdrive, and "Voyage To Manhood" has a nice P-Bass growl to it. This being my first full-length Keneally studio effort, I was ecstatic to have done it at all, but it certainly opened my eyes in terms of necessary studio gear…or lack thereof in my case.
