What do you get when you get the Special Edition DVD of Guitar Therapy Live? You get the entire, unedited, fully unabridged magic of the 7/30/05 Baked Potato show that makes up the bulk of the Guitar Therapy Live CD. An attentive listener will notice where we made the edits for the CD. An extremely attentive listener will notice some very subtle differences in performances.

My list of things to watch for: the unedited “Spoon Guy” and “Uglytown” set piece, the alternate version of my own tune, “Seven Percent Grade” (thanks again to Mike Keneally for having this on the CD, as well as the DVD), and the unexplainably funny first two minutes of “Voyage to Manhood.”

Thankfully there’s a commentary track on this DVD, so I’ll simply refer you to that for the entire band’s collective take on this show in as much detail as you care to sit through. All I’ll say is, for any Keneally completist, this DVD is a must, if only for the absurdly wacky menu graphics, and for the soundcheck blooper/outtake audio used as background music for said menus.
