I wasn't yet an official member of Keneally's band when I did this, but considering I was in full-on worship mode with the guy, to say I was excited was an understatement. I literally had no idea about how to get a bass sound in the studio, so you can imagine my surprise when we listened back to "My Dilemma"--which was simply my Tobias Basic 5-String direct into the board--and I heard the best bass sound I've ever gotten to tape to this day. The bass was stolen out of my apartment less than a year later.

Each tune was another testimonial to the possibility of something special happening between Mike and I for years to come. "Breakfast" is still a landmark tune in terms of its heaviness and complexity, and "Land Of Broken Dreams" was a run-out-the-tape-reel jam that I didn't know I was capable of doing. I'd never felt more comfortable in the studio with anyone. That still holds true.
