OK, so it's not a true "release," but
we sold it at shows, so some 200 folks out
there have it. 100 Proof was a blues-rock band I was in back in
Boston during my Berklee College Of Music years; the original drummer
was Joe Travers. I was this close to making this band my life's
work, as we were all preparing to move to New York City together
in the summer of '93
when Joe called me from Paris (in the
midst of a Z tour) and mentioned something about an audition. The
rest is history.
Jon Skibic, a mercurial, inspired guitarist, was
an early convert to alternative, and went on to play professionally
with The Gigolo Aunts, The Eels, and Juliana Hatfield. Ben Sesar
and Dylan Altman (the main creative force in the band; he now has
a publishing deal) moved to Nashville, and if you're in the area,
you can see Dylan performing "Dissatisfied" and "I
Ain't The One" in local clubs to this day. He's a great guy
and a natural talent.
