The first official Music For Pets release, and not a moment too soon after a year of working on it. If only we'd known then that the whole thing would get reworked three more times before its American release….

This sequence, though incredibly long, is the most accurate reflection of this band at its creative studio peak, such as it was. Z, at its core, was a hard rock band. Eventually some of the harder rockers got replaced with more "modern" tunes for the American version, and while they may indeed have been better songs, they didn't add up to a better album (IMHO, as always).

Fun fact: this CD was released in France ten months before Mike and I left the band, and yet the album didn't hit America until two months afterwards. Considering that the first track ("Us") was recorded in mid-1994, that makes it a three-year project.

And, of course, if you want to see what the band pictures looked like before Mike and I were replaced by the heads of the Zappas' dogs, the French version is the one for you.
