The Aristocrats’ “Culture Clash” Hits #8 On Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart!

Monday, July 29th, 2013

(Well. Once again, I’m reduced to cross-posting something from Aristocrats world, but hopefully you’ll forgive me because this news is just too big not to do it. Have I said thank you to you lately? -BB)

**********

As you can see from the subject line, we’ve got some big news:

The Aristocrats’ brand new album Culture Clash cracked the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart Top 10 this week! The album hit #8 on that chart, and also debuted at #16 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.

Needless to say, we’re totally blown away, and frankly, a little shocked. We’re also a bit amused at being classified as any kind of “jazz”. :-)

But more than anything, we’re grateful to everyone who went out and bought the album, because that’s what made it happen. So, from the bottom of our hearts: THANK YOU!

Meanwhile The Aristocrats U.S. Summer Tour is going incredibly well. Venues have been packed and there seems to be some real excitement out there. For our part, we’re just going to keep on touring and doing what we do.

New Aristocrats “Culture Clash” Preview Video At JamTrackCentral.com

Tuesday, July 9th, 2013

I am fully and unapologetically in Aristocrats promo-whoring mode. With just seven days until release day, I will leave no promo opportunity un-whored. Here, watch this:

*******************

The wait is almost over: The new Aristocrats album “Culture Clash” drops in just one week! And we’ve got one last preview video to show you. It’s got new exclusive footage of the band tracking the jet-fueled rockabilly number “Louisville Stomp”.

And it’s hosted by our friends at Jam Track Central. They’re the folks who are offering complete tab/transcriptions of all of Guthrie’s parts on “Culture Clash”, plus bass/drum-only mixes so guitarist fans of Mr. Govan can have the unique educational experience of playing along with the tracks.

Check out the exclusive new video (and the Official “Culture Clash” Backings package) right here at JamTrackCentral.com.

And if you haven’t pre-ordered “Culture Clash” yet, you can do so right here.

Just one more week! :-)

*******************

Meanwhile, the Satriani tour hits its final week in Mother Russia: I’m in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad, see “Siege Of”). Before this was Warsaw, Poland, and several cities before that, Berlin. For a history buff like me, it’s been the WWII tragedy tour.  But somehow I feel more connected to the world just being in these places I’ve only previously read about.

Overall, it’s difficult to fathom all that happened here less than 100 years ago. Makes me feel fortunate to have been born when and where I was, and to be playing music for a living. Could have turned out a lot different.

BB
