New Bass Player Magazine Article Links
Saturday, February 13th, 2010
Just a site update note – I just found a bunch of good new links on the Bass Player Magazine website, which means than more of my articles and CD reviews than ever before are available for your perusal.
Just check out the Literature page under “General Articles” and scroll down, since most of the new links are stuff written in the past year. What, you’ve never even visited the Literature page? Tsk tsk.
WesFest 5 Just Got Awesome: Tal Wilkenfeld, Vinnie Colaiuta, Oz Noy & John Beasley to Headline!
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010
If you’ve been following me for even just a bit, you know I’m down for the cause of WesFest 5. Gather some friends, get a cool L.A. venue, play some music, and raise money for the Wes Wehmiller Scholarship at Berklee College Of Music. We’ve had great headliners before, and every event so far has been a success at every level.
But for WesFest 5, as my friend Kendall would say, SH*T JUST GOT AWESOME.
Headliner Tal Wilkenfeld will be playing her material with this ridiculous band:
Tal Wilkenfeld – bass
Oz Noy – guitar
John Beasley – keys
Vinnie Colaiuta – drums
Uh, yeah, you really should go.

As you can see, we picked up some sponsors for the event as well. Check those logos at the bottom of the flyer above. Those are some cool companies right there. Much love to all of them.
There’s also some new March dates up on the Calendar page. SoCal, Wisconsin, Mississippi…you know, the usual routing.
If you’re a magazine reading type, the March issue of Bass Player has CD reviews I wrote on Evan Marien, Converge, and Keb’ Mo’. Plus it’s got the debut of my new rock/metal bass instructional column.
And if you’re a metal guy, and you read Bass Player, all I can say is, just wait for the April issue.
See you at WesFest 5, SoCal.
